Calling all fifth graders!  In the next few weeks, more than 1,100 schools in 14 states will receive classroom curriculum, activities and materials, including take-home materials and a family recycling pledge. These interactive materials will help educate 150,000 fifth-graders and their families on the versatile and sustainable packaging solutions provided by paper-based packaging and reinforcing that paper-based packaging is a responsible choice.

Since 2013, The Responsible Package initiative has partnered with Kaleidoscope YFM, a division of The Gotcha Group, to create and develop youth educational materials for fifth grade teachers and students and their families. This year, the program offers a new website for students, featuring downloadable classroom and at-home activities for teachers, students and their families. To learn more and access the classroom materials, visit www.theresponsiblepackage.com.

The Responsible Package initiative’s sponsoring organizations include the American Forest & Paper Association, AICC – The Independent Packaging Association, Corrugated Packaging Alliance, Fibre Box Association, Paper Shipping Sack Manufacturer’s Association, Renewable Bag Council and TAPPI.
